Wilson said the county recently created a Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission “to work on improving and expanding recreational activities” for residents. She said the commission will look for projects “that will improve public access, recreation, trails, pickleball courts and other capital improvements.” She noted that the formation of the Mathews Family YMCA and the 2018 construction of its headquarters at Hudgins have provided more opportunities.
