Board of Supervisors Special Work Session
- Date: 06/17/2019 7:00 PM - 8:59 PM
- Location: Historic Courthouse
27 Court Street
Mathews, Virginia 23109
The Board of Supervisors will be holding a special work session on Monday, June 17th, at 7:00 PM in the Mathews County Historic Courthouse to discuss the use and development of the East River Boat Yard.
As always, work sessions are open to the public.
Monday night’s work session will provide an opportunity for the Board of Supervisors to discuss the future development and use of the East River Boatyard property. There will also be an opportunity to hear from citizens and the two aquaculture businesses who responded to the January 2019 RFP. The one acre site located at the end of Mill Lane Road (State Route 619), was purchased by the County in 2004. The Board of Supervisors recently approved a rezoning from Residential-1 to Business-1, where permitted uses include public access and aquaculture. In 2015, VHB Inc. prepared a site plan for public access, which may be modified should the Board wish to add a commercial component to the site.
